The Path of Fulfillment

"If you do what you’ve always done you’ll get what you’ve always gotten." - Tony Robbins

Hi guys, in my quirky YouTube girl voice lol. We have officially made it to the final day of 2020 and I think it’s fair to breathe a huge DEEP BREATH and SIGH of relief as the year comes to an end.

This year has taught us all individual lessons, and have shed light on things we take for granted, like our health and even time itself.  This year has been progressive for some and stagnant for others. But we made it y’all!

Personally, I’ve faced many highs and few lows this year (what’s a year without lows) but I can truly say that as this year comes to a close, the biggest takeaway for me is finding out what fulfills me. It took me 366 days (yes this was a leap year) to discover that my theme for 2020 was Fulfillment. At the beginning of this year, I was entering my fourth year as an Award-Winning Travel Agent, and as much as I loved what I did and as much as I loved winning free trips, I was truly unhappy at the company I worked for. I loved helping people and I loved sending people on vacations, even my personal mantra was “you deserve a vacation.” But deep down I knew that it wasn’t something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Suddenly the Pandemic occurred, and I thought it was the perfect time to truly focus on a new path, especially since things slowed down so much. I finished up my hardest Accounting courses ever and made the very risky move to change careers in the middle of a freaking pandemic. I can honestly say that I was blessed to find the opportunity that I did because I ended up finding a job that I actually like and one that is not only helping me fully understand my industry, but also it was helping me accomplish my career goal. I jumped. I took a leap of faith. Fast-forward to very recently, I started a part-time gig, but things were not what it seemed, and so I asked myself why am I doing this? It doesn’t feel right - working the part-time gig that is. Of course we all love a side hustle, but it should’t stress you out, right? After a few days with my part-time gig, I called it quits because it wasn’t fulfilling me. Although I could have used the extra coins for my savings, it made me realize that I don’t have to stay at one place to earn a dollar that I can ultimately make myself, while doing something less stressful.

I say all of this to say, that it’s important for us to find something that fulfills us. What lights you up? What makes you feel successful? What makes you happy?  Do more of what makes you happy. If 2020 taught us one thing, it would be to not take things - especially taking the element of time for granted. Although this year slowed a lot of things down, it went by very fast. So in 2021, I urge you to do more things that personally fulfill you. Find what makes you happy and do more of it. Time is flying and life should be spent doing things that are meaningful and bringing true purpose and personal fulfillment to you. I hope 2021 brings Universal joy and healing and prosperity to everyone, and I hope we all truly choose the path of ultimate fulfillment. So long 2020.
