Pandemic Travel Edit Vol. #2 - Grand Velas - Riviera Maya Resort

Disclaimer: Sorry for the break between posts, life has been hectic with work and school :) But your girl is back, and ready to share the deets on Grand Velas.

The second half of our getaway was spent at the ultimate luxurious all-inclusive resort: Grand Velas- Riviera Maya. When I say this resort is 5-Stars, I mean it. From the second we entered the property in our shuttle from Tulum, until the day that we left, we were treated with the utmost top notch service. I've worked in Customer service for since I was 16, so I know a thing or two about service. Once we got off the shuttle, we were greeted with the warmest welcome. All the staff members wore masks, the bottom of our shoes were sanitized, we went through two temperature screenings and our luggage was taken away to be sanitized as well. Upon check-in, we were greeted with refreshingly delicious welcome cocktails. In order to step foot into the lobby, we had to go through two temperature screenings. Due to the Pandemic, Grand Velas hotel operated at reduced capacity and there were only 50, yes FIFTY guests staying at the resort, that could accommodate over 1000 guests. Grand Velas is a family-owned resort and has two AAA Five Diamond Restaurants. We had the pleasure of eating at both restaurants during our stay and took advantage of the all-inclusive meals and top shelf beverages (yes top-shelf) available for us. I think my favorite part about Grand Velas had to be our suite. Originally, we were booked in a room with a garden view room, however due to the limited number of guests, we had a full upgrade to an Ocean-front suite. The room and bathroom were larger than the size of my apartment haha. We spent time at the pool, indulged in plenty of food and simply relaxed. The coast of the Yucatan Peninsula has been plagued with seaweed. There was a ton of seaweed in Tulum as well as Grand Velas, however the landscapers at Grand Velas were cleaning the seaweed every hour on the hour. The sand was white and the water was blue. Im extremely grateful to the Grand Velas team for accommodating us during our stay in September and I look forward to the next opportunity that I have to stay there.
